One Thousand Steps Beach, Santa Barbara

Thousand Steps Beach is a rock and sand beach below homes high on the bluff in  Santa Barbara. It requires a long hike down a stairway to get to the beach. The concrete stairs, originally constructed in 1923, seems like 1000 steps, but is actually closer to 150.

Northern Lights

Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis are results of collisions between gaseous particles in the Earth's atmosphere and charged particles released from the sun's atmosphere.  Color variations are due to the type of gas particles that are colliding.  Beautiful!

Hawaiian Railway, Ewa Beach

Just a few pictures from our ride on the Ewa Train.
The Hawaiian Railway Society is a 3 ft narrow gauge heritage railroad.
It utilizes tracks of the defunct Oahu Railway and Land Company.
It was fun to ride the train, view the scenery along the way, and stop for ice cream.
Lots of old train cars to see and a very delightful toy train museum to enjoy.
